Sometimes, my sisters put me to shame. They donate their time and the little money they get from their allowance or from random weekend jobs to make a difference in the world. They participate in river cleanups, donate their hair to locks of love, help people register to vote..
heck, one of them even volunteered at a hospice!
I try to do my part. I always try to recycle. (Okay, okay..I'm a bit of a recycling Nazi.) I donate money when I can to my old schools and I always dig around in my purse for food to give to the homeless people that I pass everyday. I hold the door when I'm walking as opposed to letting it slam in the face of the person behind me. I send my old cell phones and clothing to third world nations. Did I mention that I recycle?
But sometimes, it seems like it's not enough, like the little dents that I try to make aren't even leaving scratches. If you're feeling like me, check out these great websites below to find out about local organizations that could use your time and/ or money to change the world.
